Rick will share about current transportation trends and expected costs increases for parcel (UPS, FedEx, USPS) and in the trucking industry for 2020.  With the acceleration of ecommerce growth, Rick will review carrier strategies and the potential impact on the marketplace. He will address typical questions that almost every company faces … “How do companies manage escalating transportation costs (potentially over 100 surcharges) with annual rate increases every single year?”  How can our company remain competitive in this “Amazon” world where “free shipping” and next day service is now the norm?” …”How will advancements in carrier technology change the way your deliveries occur today and tomorrow?”  “When is the right time to negotiate my parcel and LTL rates?”  … some companies state/inquire “We believe we have great rates, but how do we truly know and what is the best way to manage our transportation expenses on a daily, weekly, monthly basis?” Are there better solutions for my company?

Our Speaker

Rick Collins, Vice President, Platinum Circle Partners

Rick began his transportation background at United Parcel Service where he worked for nearly 22 years in Senior Management. The largest portion of Rick's experience at UPS was in areas of sales, sales management, pricing and marketing in various parts of the country.  His transportation background also exposed him to the LTL (less-than-truckload) industry where he was a Regional Director with a major LTL carrier with sales responsibilities for a 7-state region.  Rick is a Partner at Platinum Circle Partners where he leads client partnerships as a leading Supply Chain Consultant for companies in the U.S. and abroad.

Rick has been married to Nancy for 45 years and lives in the greater Richmond, VA area.  He is an avid golfer and serves as a part-time Chaplain in prisons.
